Budget is the new elite...

One of the few definitions of the word 'budget' is 'inexpensive' or 'affordable'. In the tech world, this small word today, is widely used, as a prefix to many gadgets. Budget smartphones, budget laptops, budget cameras, budget this budget that. But who exactly gets to decide what's budget and whats not?

Literally, there might be a definition for the term 'budget' but in practicality there is no fixed definition. Then how do we use this term today and in what context? This mere word that everyone overlooks has given manufactures the power to systematically segregate the market, segregate the consumers, implying, segregation of the society based on their status and wealth. For example, its a clear fact that even though Apple says that they aim to create a market for the masses, they end up only in the hands of the few elite and the higher middle class that put their life savings into an Apple product. To companies like Apple, the word 'budget' does not eve exist in their dictionary. Then on the other hand, we have a company like OnePlus with the motto 'NeverSettle'. They came out to be recognised as the manufacturer of the most supreme budget smartphones. Gradually bumping the pricing while maintaining the loyalty is yet another cunning strategy that they've applied to grab our attention.

A Moto G3 within the price range of Rs. 8k - 9k is considered a budget smartphone, and so is a OnePlus 3T at Rs. 30k. What has clearly happened here is the creation of two extremes in the budget category itself. While companies like Apple and Samsung compete at the peak of the mountain to maintain high ground, there's a silent battle at the bottom to be the best at the bottom too. But what we fail to realise and notice is that it'll just take a few more successors for the OnePlus family before they boost themselves to the peak with a division within itself. A day will come when there will be a OnePlus smartphone launched to compete shoulder to shoulder both in terms of specs and pricing with Apple and Samsung and another smartphone to compete at the lower end.

Little will we realise the strategy of systematic mind control is what made OnePlus the #1 smartphone maker in the smartphone industry...

Apple's 'revolutionary' touch bar...

Apple Inc. is no doubt a trendsetter in the tech industry. Rumors are now spreading about it's intentions to manufacture self driving cars and all. But lets get to something the billion dollar company is best set at manufacturing. Or must I say...'was' best set at.

Apple has long lost its charm of 'innovation' since Mr. Jobs passed away. He sure did leave a mark in the industry and brought the organisation to its peak. But I've been noticing something that most analysts and Apple loyalist have been noticing too - the gradual downward trend of innovation from Apple. The Macbook Pro, a device that stood for not just its classy looks but its high quality and highest calibre of internal specs that developers and creative heads craved for. It's externals were accommodative with the versatile ports. The pricing was out of this world but when it delivered what it promised for, it did it with might and ease.

The 2016 Macbook Pro defies all of the above praises. Gone are the top-notch specs, gone is the versatility and gone higher than ever is the pricing. Apple has shown, with this product, that it is no longer aiming to be a brand for the masses but for the chosen few. The chosen elite class that'd spend on this machine for the sake of spending and in fear of getting outdated by the old one. Agreed the TouchBar is a new external feature among all the PCs today. But, in the process of appealing to a new set of audiences, they've completely ignored their existing ones. Developers and creative heads crave for higher specs but Apple has put a cap on that too.

Its high time Apple realises where its heading is nowhere but doom, because you cannot create revolution in the name of 'courage'...

Updated BIOS and PC Not Starting-Up ? [Solution]

Have you updated your BIOS, and suddenly your PC keeps looping till the Windows Logo? Fear of opening up the computer and messing with its warranty? Here's the simplest solution without losing files and data.

[Note : This solution has been tested only on a previously running Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC. If you have a PC running Windows XP, try it out and let me know the result in the comments :)]

Method 1 :

This method can be used if you already have a Windows 8 Installation disc. All you need to do is boot with the installation disc and follow the instructions till you get the option to "Automatically Repair". In case this doesn't work I recommend the next method.

Method 2 :

Step 1 :

You will first need a Windows Installation Disc or USB Drive. You can do this by downloading and extracting the Windows 7/ Windows 8 iso file into disc or into the root folder of the USB.

Step 2 :

Next you will have to boot your PC with the installation disc or USB drive you just created. To do this, as you switch on the PC, access the BIOS menu [usually by clicking F2; different manufacturers have a different key] and change the boot order to your USB drive being the first in line.Once done this, save the changes and restart the computer. It should now boot with the Windows Installation.

Step 3 :

Follow the installation instructions and the setup will automatically save your files and documents in your 'C:\' drive, in a folder named "Windows.old". And that's it! After the setup you will be back to normal functioning. ( Note : Your PC will restart twice or thrice during setup. This is normal, do not panic or interfere with the installation in any manner!)
[Note : All the drivers and softwares that were previously installed will have to be manually installed again.]

If you felt this solution helpful please share it :)
Any questions, please leave in the comments :)

The Endless Techno Lag...

"Son, what's this??" "Oh that? That's an email!"...No, I bet that wasn't one of the conversations Bill Gates would have ever had with his grandmother [emails never existed that time =P].
But it does relate to the fact that the communication gap between the old and the young has been increasing and is continuing to happen so. The main reason upfront is the rapidly increasing technology. It is clearly seen that the young minds are much easier to play with than the order ones. The same goes with technology. The young very easily adapt to new changes while the old 'just don't get it!!
It's not about the understanding, but about the will and want to change. The old people just don't want to change and the excuse to that is, looking at the negative aspects of technology and criticizing it. But the truth is, accept it or not, technology is just like water - 'a basic necessity'. Want to lag behind? Go ahead and hate technology.
Gone are the days when scriptures would be the 'spare time book', when schools had their only aim of instilling 'holy stuff' in the minds of 'our future'. But grand-people just can't accept this culture. Even singing pop songs is like breaking the 'tablets of commandments'. These days having a cell phone is fine but in some of the rural and "uncivilized places" ( as some of us would call them today ), a girl with a cellphone is considered outlawed! *INSANE* *AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS!* etc. etc...

*sigh!* The old are going to remain old and the young.....well, they are going to get old some day too!!
